Hi, I’m Ronny Punctuation, welcome to my website.
From Bray, Co. Wicklow in Ireland, I’m a cartoonist, artist, and musician, and you can find my work right here!
When it comes to cartoons I love to draw quirky little doodles with irreverant characters and captions. I like a largely minimalist style in drawing. Themes usually include non-human animals, characters not wanting to do things until they’ve had their coffee, helpful therapy, and the lord of eternal darkness who really just wants to make friends.
I use my cartoonish style in art as well, along with more abstract painting. Sometimes I combine to two, with the abstract messy painting representing a chaotic universe with no clear direction, and a cartoon character who is unaware that they are not the centre of the universe.
Even before I would have called myself an artist I’ve always loved to draw. I always had messy penmanship given that I have a neurodevelopmental condition that impacts upon my fine motor skills, so I had to find my own way of working around these obstacles.
When it comes to music, I’ve been playing guitar since I was 15 and have long written (or tried to write) my own songs. In 2024 I got back to performing in front of people after more than 8 years as a musical hermit. And in 2025 I started performing comedic songs.
Most of my art and music is informed by my experience as living as a person who is both neurodivergent and has always struggled with their mental health. My creative outlets allow me to express myself, both in a serious and more comedic way.
Through art and music I like to find something beautiful about a world and a life that can often feel very ugly.
Growing up I was undiagnosed with autism, ADHD, and a learning disability, and I struggled heavily with my mental health. Often times I felt like I was from a completely different universe to those around me. I always felt that being autistic and different meant, often times, people didn’t even give me a chance. I produced and spoke in a short documentary about autism for a college project, which you can view below. When it comes to relationships between autistic and non-autistic people, I believe in attempting to understand how eachother’s brains work and meeting each other halfway in communication and accpetance.
I’m a strong believer in discussing mental health without stigma. Throughout my life I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety, and survived a suicide attempt, and I have had to do a lot of work revolving around learning better ways of dealing with inner turmoil and communicating with people about mental health struggles. I am a firm believer that everyone has a mental health and that it’s ok to feel the way you feel. I also believe in healthy communication and understanding that nobody is perfect.
The feeling of being from a completely different universe growing up informs my art, cartoons, and music today. When writing or drawing comedy, I often like to take a light-hearted view on what it’s like being neurodivergent in a world that isn’t built for neurodivergent people.
There are beautiful things all around us and that art and music are for everybody. Creativity and imagination are powerful things that need to be supported.
