Cartoon Sampler 8

As February comes to a close I bring you another cartoon sampler. I’m sticking to doing 2 of these a month for now, but might occasionally have a special cartoon post.

I also regularly post a homeage to my favourite cartoon family: The Simposons. I’m actually going to be expanding my venture into pop culture appreciation without infringing on copyright. I’m adding something to that section next month.

I was putting this post together on my old family dog’s birthday. My current dog, Bruce, came along when the late Beth was turning 13. She was maternal enough to not kill him but enough of an unsocial loner to not want any part of him. However, despite Betty Spaghetti wanting only her own company and Bruce wanting to be the centre of the universe, they managed to coexist ultimately. Here is the last picture I ever took of Beth:

It’s funny looking at that photo of the old family home with the two dogs. Bruce is 5 now, but I still have to remind myself that he actually isn’t the new dog anymore. He’s a French Bulldog which are a breed that don’t really have a long life span. So he’s truly in midlife crisis territory. Beth had a long life making it to almost 16 (she would have been 18 this year) and she brought me a lot of joy. I had a lot of struggles with my mental health in my 20’s, but the most enjoyable part of that time in my life was taking Betty for long walks and sitting with her in café’s. I would sit there writing and drawing, while she would sit there watching everyone go by, no doubt quietly judging everybody.

As you can probably tell if you’ve seen my handmade greeting cards, I love dogs. And I’ve been lucky to have two very good ones in my life.

In this sampler, we get a look at a Beaver’s inner turmoil. We also have some coffee and some therapy. And we can check in with Bruce.

I’m doing some reworking of my art on this website, I’m trying to take better quality pictures of some of my work, and I am redesigning the page formerly known as Designs for Commissions to spread out the content a bit more. My aim is to have a seperate section for my signs, my unique customisable pieces, and my handmade greeting cards. So that will be comings soon. I still have loads of paintings and drawings on my site, and there are some of my pieces available for sale as part of a fundraiser for my local arts centre. They are all on the Art Page.
